Hilarie Viens- Owner/Artistic Director
Hilarie
was born and raised in this historic city of Woonsocket. She is a
graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy, where she was on the dance team
for three years. She was also a student at Krylo Dance Studios for 20
years, and taught there for 6. She studied towards her Bachelors in
Dance at Dean college, and is a certified graduate of the Dance Teachers Training Program of Boston. She has also studied with Brae Crest School of Ballet, the New England Academy of Ballet, and has performed with the Island Moving Company, as well as at the Boston Celtics half time shows, and various local productions right here at the beautiful Stadium Theater. She also danced to open Jonathan Joseph Peters runway show for Providence Fashion Week. Hilarie also started and directed the local dance team at Good Shepherd Catholic School,
and has run many dance camps across the state that focus on the
Pre-school level. Hilarie is a proud member of the NAPW, making Lyrics
In Motion a nationally accredited business through the National
Association of Professional Women. She was
previously a pre-school teacher at the JCCRI as well as a summer camp
director with KECamps, and is CPR and First Aid certified. Dance and
helping to build confidence, as well as teaching her students to go well
beyond dance training, through her "Beyond The Movement" program, are
Hilarie's strongest passions. She has now devoted herself to setting Lyrics In Motion
apart from the rest, through teaching morals and values, creating a
warm and welcoming family atmosphere, presenting her students with an
abundance of performance and master class opportunities, and continuing
to take professional classes and train herself to teach the newest and
most innovative dance styles and education.
